Meet our HSE and risk management team
Matt Hort – Director
Matt has extensive HSE experience ranging from managing site issues through to dealing with long-term corporate strategy.
He began his safety career with Diamond Offshore on a semi-submersible drilling rig, which provided invaluable first-hand experience of the challenges associated with site HSE implementation. He then moved into an HSE adviser role with Technip Oceania where he was a key member of numerous project management teams.
After several years with Technip, Matt was nominated as a ‘High Potential’ employee and was transferred to Technip UK as Marine Safety Superintendent. Within this role, he was responsible for Technip vessels operating in the North Sea, Gulf of Mexico, West Africa and Brazil.
On returning to Perth, Matt was offered the role of HSE Manager at Clough Oil & Gas. Here, he managed a team of project HSE managers and oversaw the successful development of safety cases.
David Robotham – Partner – HSE Consultant
While David began his career in injury management, he quickly realised that he wanted to be involved in injury prevention. He went on to gain valuable experience in the Health & Safety team at Clough Oil & Gas, as well as in various HSE manager roles on major projects, becoming respected for his professional approach to HSE management and his outstanding work ethic.
David has completed a Bachelor of Physical & Health Education Degree (Human Movement) and a Masters of Health Science Degree (Occupational Health and Safety).
David Ford – Training Consultant
Combining a background in education with health and safety experience in the offshore industry, David is a key member of our HSE training team. He has tutored at the University of Western Australia School of Medicine & Dentistry and has completed a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree, a Diploma of Education, a Graduate Diploma in Critical Care and a Masters of Medical Science Degree, which involved running a clinical drug trial.
David is also a Critical Care Paramedic on the State Search & Rescue Helicopter based in Perth, Western Australia, having worked in the ambulance industry for 15 years. During this time he operated as a Clinical Incident Investigator.
